DISNEY TIPS
Horizons: Find the restrooms to the left of Horizons. There should be some drinking fountains near them. Push the button on the drinking fountain – it TALKS!
Liberty Sq: Over the bridge into
Liberty Sq there is an ice cream shop. This is supposed to be 1 of the better
places to view the parades (don’t forget, during the day, the parades come from
the back of the park, at night, they come from the front of the park)
Kilimanjaro: Ride the Safari 3
times a day. You will see a better variety of animals this way. The hippos
& elephants like the early morning, the zebras & giraffes get frisky
midday & the lions enjoy the late afternoon
Tomorrowland: There is a talking trash
can somewhere in Cosmic Rays
Liberty Belle Riverboat: If you are on the top deck, you can
see the “captain”. If he sees you standing near the roped off area, there is a
good chance he will call you up to allow you to “steer” the boat.
Room Reservations: We already know that when making
our reservations we can REQUEST a specific room/building, but we are not
GUARANTEED that until we actually check in. If you call 5 days before, directly
to the resort you are staying at, ask for the “rooms controller” in the “front
office”, tell them what you are looking for & what you would specifically
like, there is a 95% chance that you will get exactly that before you even step
foot on Disney property
Castle show: A lot of people are
saying the best part of Disney is to stay at the Magic Kingdom after it closes.
When they close the park, hang out a bit longer. There will be an amazing light
show in the castle, accompanied by “When you wish upon a star”. Everyone is
saying it’s wonderful. You also end up beating the crowds this way.
When you first enter Disney World's Magic Kingdom, walk
under the train station where the lockers are. Facing Cinderella Castle, look
for a door on the right just before you exit from under the station. Open this
door and get a look at the Mural on the wall. It was painted when I worked
there. The outline was projected on the wall using an overhead and traced, and
then it was colored in. This room is where the Train engineers and Main Street
cast meet and take breaks. They will ask you if you were looking for something,
so just tell them the restroom or something. We had 10-20 people a day walk
into this room.
REPORTED
During a parade, windows open and close automatically on
the second-level buildings to reveal speakers which are synchronized with the
floats.

When I was being trained on Big Thunder Railroad, the
lead shared a very funny fact with me. When your train is going up the 2nd
lift,(in actual terms, "B-lift"), and you pass the goat with the
stick of dynamite in its' mouth, look to your left and toward the bottom as you
almost complete the turn and you will see a giant set of human toes carved into
the rock formation. You'll need to sit in the first seat to get a really good
look at it because the train is going too fast otherwise. One of the men
working on the construction before the attraction was opened actually broke his
toe while on the job and carved an unbelievable likeness of his two toes
sticking out of a cast. Pretty funny
To achieve a
high score on the Buzz Lightyear Space Rangers Spin Ride, here are a couple of
hidden targets. As you leave the first shooting area, there is a "Z"
target on the ceiling above you, if you hit the target directly in the center
with the laser, you get 100,000 points per hit. There is also a hidden target
on the wall in the room that shows you the wall video of the flying Zurg ship.
You can only see it for a split second while the Zurg ship is stopped and just
before it gets destroyed. This is the most challenging one to find and hitting
the targe (Not Enclosed in a "Z") also gives high bonus points, but I
don't know how much since you really have to concentrate on the wall.

There's an
invisible hidden Mickey. (I know...sounds ridiculous, but true!) On the ride,
you go through a round-ish doorway. Turn your car completely around and imagine
there's a 3-circle Mickey head. Shoot at where the right ear would be, and if
you hit the target (you can actually see a white circle) you get 1 million
points!
UPDATE
There is a
garbage can in the cafeteria adjacent to the Grand Prix raceway that is
"alive". When a guest throws their food scraps away, the garbage can
makes chewing noises and smacks its lips.
